Ramnagar, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : In an age dominated by trending songs and modern music, three young brothers from Ramnagar, located in Nainital district, are on a mission to connect the new generation with their rich local culture. Suyaash Sati, Harshit Sati, and Praanjal Sati are gaining attention on social media for their captivating performances of Kumaoni songs, accompanied by traditional instruments like the harmonium, tabla, dholki, and hudka.
The trio, all from the same family, balances their studies with their passion for music. Their goal is to share Kumaoni folk songs and the culture of Uttarakhand beyond the mountains, reaching a wider audience through social media platforms.
Suyaash Sati is currently pursuing a B.Tech degree, while Harshit is an intermediate student, and Praanjal is studying at a Sanskrit school. Suyaash and Harshit are brothers, with Praanjal being their cousin.
They have received music training from Mohan Pathak at the Swara Sadhana Music School in Ramnagar. Suyaash plays the harmonium, Harshit handles the dholki and tabla, and Praanjal plays the hudka. Their harmonious blend of instruments creates a unique flavor in their Kumaoni song presentations.
Suyaash expressed that he has always wanted to promote his culture. To achieve this, he formed a group with his brothers and began sharing Kumaoni culture through reels on social media. He noted that they have been sharing their performances for about a month, receiving love and appreciation from viewers. He learned the mountain songs through YouTube and worked hard to prepare their presentations.
Harshit, who plays the dholki and tabla, shared that he learned his craft at the Swara Sadhana Music College. He emphasized the importance of keeping their culture alive, which is why the three collaborate as a team for their performances.
Praanjal, the hudka player, stated that their effort aims to revive the fading culture of Uttarakhand. He and his brothers are committed to ensuring that today’s youth remember their cultural roots.
Despite their different family circumstances, the brothers share a common passion for music. Suyaash and Harshit’s father, Dheeraj Sati, works in the private sector, while their mother, Hema Sati, is a private teacher. Praanjal’s father, Prakash Sati, runs a tea shop, and his mother is a homemaker. Balancing family responsibilities and studies, all three dedicate time to practice music, showcasing Kumaoni songs with traditional instruments.
While their musical journey is still in its early stages, these three youths from Ramnagar are receiving local recognition for their efforts to promote folk culture to a new generation through social media. They aspire to continue their education while advancing Kumaoni folk songs and traditional melodies to reach even more people.
