Jharkhand Government Appoints Block Supply Officers to Ease Ration Issues

Giridih, March 15: The Jharkhand government has taken significant steps to alleviate the challenges faced by ration card holders in Giridih district. Permanent Block Supply Officers (BSOs) have been appointed in 12 out of the 13 blocks, excluding Bagodar. This initiative will eliminate the need for residents to travel to the district headquarters for any ration-related issues, as all services will now be available at the block level.

Among the newly appointed officers, Chandni Kumari stands out as the only female officer, assigned to the Gawan block. The remaining 11 blocks will have male officers serving as Block Supply Officers. With these appointments, there is optimism that ration distribution and related services will operate more smoothly across the district.

District Supply Officer (DSO) Ghulam Samdani stated that this move is aimed at enhancing public convenience. He emphasized that all issues faced by eligible ration card holders will now be resolved at the block level, saving both time and money for the residents. The DSO urged the public to reach out to their block headquarters for any problems related to rations and to report any difficulties promptly.

He also mentioned that the government’s objective is to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of rations and that the distribution of grains is conducted transparently. The appointed officers have been instructed to strictly adhere to the rules and to address public grievances without delay.

This initiative is a crucial step towards strengthening the ration system in the district. An appointment for an officer in the Bagodar block is expected soon. Local residents have welcomed this decision, expressing that it will significantly reduce their daily challenges.
