Mumbai, June 14: The police recruitment exam for the positions of prohibition constables, class IV staff, and mobile squad constables is set to take place today across various centers in the Jamui district. The district administration has completed all necessary preparations to ensure the exam is conducted in a peaceful, fair, and misconduct-free environment.
District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Dayal held a review meeting with appointed magistrates, police officers, and center heads to assess the preparations. During this meeting, officials were instructed to strictly adhere to all guidelines related to the exam’s operation.
According to administrative officials, the recruitment exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will run from 10 AM to 12 PM, while the second shift will take place from 3 PM to 5 PM. Candidates participating in the first shift must arrive at their exam centers by 8 AM, while those in the second shift are required to report by 1 PM.
A total of 19,104 candidates will take the exam at 13 centers across the district. To ensure a fair and organized process, a sufficient number of magistrates, police forces, and flying squads have been deployed at all centers. Additionally, security measures have been heightened around the exam locations, with specific instructions to monitor for suspicious activities.
Meanwhile, candidates at Patliputra Railway Station created a ruckus as they attempted to board an exam special train heading to Katihar. Chaos ensued among the candidates, leading to protests where angry students sat in front of the train and chanted slogans. Reports also indicated that some unruly elements vandalized the train during this incident.
Upon receiving reports of the disturbance, police from several stations arrived at the scene. Senior police and administrative officials also reached the station to manage the situation. To regain control, police resorted to three rounds of aerial firing. Despite these efforts, tensions remained high in the station area for an extended period.
