Jammu Police Busts Prostitution Racket, Rescues Three Women

Jammu, March 7: The Jammu Police’s South Zone has made a significant breakthrough in combating human trafficking and immoral trade by dismantling a prostitution racket operating in a residential area. The police successfully rescued three women and arrested three suspects, including two men and one woman.

According to police sources, a tip-off revealed that women were being lured and purchased for prostitution at a house owned by Amrik Singh, son of Natar Singh, located in Lane Number 31, Greater Kailash, Jammu. The women were subjected to sexual exploitation in exchange for money. Under the supervision of the SDPO City East and the overall oversight of the SP City South, a well-planned raid was conducted by the IC PP Soldier Colony and the SHO Channi Himmat police station team.

During the raid, the three women were freed from the racket. These girls were reportedly victims of trafficking. The police apprehended three suspects at the scene, including the homeowner. An FIR has been registered at the Channi Himmat police station under Sections 3, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. The investigation is ongoing, and further legal action is being pursued.

The Jammu South Zone Police has demonstrated proactive policing, vigilance, and swift response through this success. The police stated that this operation reflects their commitment to ensuring the dignity and safety of vulnerable women. A firm resolve has been established to crack down on such criminal activities.

The rescued women have been placed in a safe location, and arrangements for their counseling and rehabilitation are underway. The police have urged the public to report any knowledge of such activities immediately. This success is part of an ongoing campaign against human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Jammu and Kashmir, where several rackets have been dismantled in recent months.

The Jammu Police emphasized that investigations into such cases will be conducted with complete transparency, and strict punishment will be meted out to the offenders.
