Gun Attack on Man in Punjabs Fatehgarh Churian Sparks Outrage

Gurdaspur, August 31: A man was critically injured in a shooting incident in Fatehgarh Churian, located in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder and has been referred to Amritsar for urgent medical care. Local police are currently investigating the case.

Initial reports indicate that two assailants on a motorcycle stopped the man and opened fire. The victim has been identified as Amarjeet Singh. Following the incident, a police team arrived at the scene, including DSP Lalit Kumar and the head of the Fatehgarh Churian police station, who conducted an inspection before proceeding with the investigation.

This incident comes on the heels of a shocking case involving social media influencer Manjeet Kaur, who was allegedly kidnapped and set on fire after being tied to a tree. Manjeet succumbed to her injuries on August 26 while receiving treatment at PGI Chandigarh.

According to a complaint filed by her mother, Manjeet was lured on July 3 to meet two acquaintances near a liquor shop in Sector 34, Chandigarh. The accused reportedly forced her into a car and took her to Morinda in Rupnagar district, where they assaulted her, tied her to a tree, and set her ablaze. A friend later arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames with a blanket.

Manjeet was initially taken to a hospital in Morinda, then transferred to Mohali, and finally referred to PGI Chandigarh on July 9 due to severe burn injuries. She remained unconscious for several weeks but regained consciousness on August 5. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated, leading to her death on August 26.
