Tel Aviv, March 21: Israel has asserted that it has significantly reduced ballistic missile production in Tehran following overnight airstrikes on a factory.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that it targeted “dozens” of sites in Tehran, which were involved in producing essential components for missile development.
The locations struck included a component storage facility, a missile fuel plant, and a production site.
In a Telegram post, the IDF stated, “The IDF will continue to escalate its attacks on the government’s weapon production facilities to diminish its ballistic missile program capabilities, which pose a direct threat to Israel.”
Earlier, during a meeting with top officials, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz indicated a commitment to intensifying attacks on Iran. He echoed sentiments similar to those expressed in the IDF’s Telegram post.
According to the Times of Israel, Katz emphasized that Israel is determined to lead attacks against the Iranian regime, eliminate its commanders, and reduce its strategic capabilities. This will continue until the threats to Israel and U.S. interests in the region are neutralized.
He stated, “We will not stop until all objectives of the war are achieved.” Katz also mentioned that attacks against Iran would increase this week.
In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi argued that a ceasefire alone is insufficient to end the conflict, asserting that it must be completely resolved.
In an interview with Japan’s Kyodo News Agency, Araghchi remarked, “This war is not ours; it has been imposed on us. We were attacked while negotiating with the U.S., which was entirely illegal and unprovoked.”
He maintained that Iran’s actions are purely defensive and that the country will continue to protect itself for as long as necessary.
