Ranchi, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : The political landscape in Jharkhand is mourning the loss of Minister Sudivya Sonu, whose passing has drawn condolences from leaders of both the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress party. Rajesh Thakur, a prominent Congress leader, described Sonu as a crucial ally to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and emphasized his political acumen and influence in the state.
“This is devastating news,” Thakur expressed, recalling his last conversation with Sonu just days before his death. They had discussed ways to strengthen Jharkhand’s tourism sector during Sonu’s recent trip to Bengaluru. Thakur noted that Sonu was not just a minister but a key decision-maker during coalition discussions.
Thakur further highlighted Sonu’s role as a social worker, noting his calm demeanor and attentive listening. “His absence is irreplaceable,” he added.
Manoj Pandey, a spokesperson for JMM, echoed these sentiments, calling Sonu’s untimely departure a significant loss for Jharkhand politics. “Filling the void left by him will be challenging,” he remarked, hoping for peace for Sonu’s soul.
Opposition leader Babulal Marandi also expressed his shock and sorrow over Sonu’s death. He confirmed the news after speaking with locals in Giridih, Sonu’s hometown. “Though he was from a different political party, he was a familiar face in our community. His sudden passing is a tragedy for both his family and society,” Marandi stated, offering prayers for strength to Sonu’s family during this difficult time.
