Patna, July 15: Rajiv Ranjan, spokesperson for the Janata Dal United (JDU), has criticized the ongoing internal conflict within the Punjab Congress. He stated that there is a lack of coordination between the current leadership and the faction led by former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. This discord is expected to impact the upcoming assembly elections, thereby increasing the chances for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a conversation, Ranjan highlighted that the situation within Punjab Congress has become quite serious. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been attempting to address the discontent within the party through various channels, but a cohesive strategy between the current leadership and Channi’s faction remains elusive.
Ranjan asserted that the internal politics of Congress will be clearly visible in the forthcoming Punjab assembly elections. He claimed that the likelihood of a BJP government forming is rising, largely due to the party’s internal strife and political maneuvering.
Regarding the Bankipur assembly by-election, Ranjan noted that significant development projects have taken place in the area over the past several years. Infrastructure has expanded, providing better facilities to the residents. He mentioned that the BJP has maintained a strong presence in this region since 1995, and he anticipates that the public will support the NDA candidate, resulting in a historic victory.
On the introduction of heli-tourism and air tourism services in Bihar, Ranjan described it as a historic and far-reaching decision. He believes this initiative will invigorate tourism in Bihar and benefit the state’s economy.
He emphasized that improved facilities will attract more domestic and international tourists. The availability of helicopter and small aircraft services will help position Bihar on the global tourism map.
Commenting on the meeting between Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and leaders from Sharad Pawar’s faction, Ranjan noted that Maharashtra is not immune to the country’s political dynamics. He observed that Sharad Pawar’s political strategies often exhibit varying equations over time.
Ranjan stated that if both factions of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) collaborate and the Eknath Shinde faction gains strength, it could bolster the stability and strength of the Fadnavis government.
Regarding the extension of the SIR deadline in Haryana and Andhra Pradesh, Ranjan explained that the aim is to alleviate public inconvenience. He stressed the goal of ensuring 100% transparency throughout the process.
In response to the Ministry of External Affairs’ statement that a passport is not a proof of citizenship but a travel document, Ranjan remarked that a passport is essential for international travel. He highlighted the significant role of individuals connected to India in the global economy, noting the worldwide demand for skilled workers and professionals. He advocated for expediting the passport application process to facilitate ease for the public.
On the escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, Ranjan indicated that this issue transcends the two nations and could impact the global economy. He expressed concern over the potential for war-like conditions to increase global anxiety.
Ranjan affirmed that the Indian government is actively pursuing diplomatic efforts to maintain world peace. India has consistently supported a global order based on equality, security, and international cooperation.
