Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Reclaims Animal Husbandry Department from Minister Lakhan Patel

Bhopal, July 15: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has reassumed control of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department from State Minister (Independent Charge) Lakhan Patel. Patel will now solely oversee the Anand Department.

According to a notification issued by the state government, Chief Minister Yadav will retain the responsibilities of the Animal Husbandry Department. Recently, Lakhan Patel has been in the spotlight for various reasons. However, the government has not provided any official comments regarding the reasons for this departmental change.

When approached by the media, Lakhan Patel stated that he was unaware of the situation. He emphasized that the allocation and modification of departments is the prerogative of the Chief Minister.

Discussions about a cabinet expansion in the state have been ongoing for some time. Consequently, this change is being linked to potential ministerial reshuffles.

Lakhan Patel is a legislator from the Patharia constituency in Damoh district. He was first elected to the assembly in 2013. After losing in the 2018 elections, he made a comeback in the 2023 assembly elections and was appointed as a minister in the Mohan Yadav government.
