New Delhi, August 31: Ayodhya is renowned for its cinematic Ram Leela, considered the largest in the country. This year, it will present its eighth edition in New Delhi for the first time. The grand event will showcase child artists aged three to sixteen in the morning session, while over sixty film stars will perform in the evening.
The ninth edition is scheduled to take place in Ayodhya in January, two months from now. This Ram Leela was initiated during the pandemic under the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and has since spread the message of devotion worldwide.
The event in Delhi will be held from October 10 to 20 at the Mavlankar Hall in Constitution Club, Rafi Marg. Children aged three to sixteen will participate from 10 AM to 12 PM, while film artists will perform from 7 PM to 10 PM. A fair will also be organized at the venue from 4 PM to 11 PM. The hall can accommodate around 600 people, and a 120-foot LED screen will be installed to provide clear visuals for the audience.
This Ram Leela featuring such young children is believed to be a first. It will particularly highlight the childhood forms of Lord Rama. The event aims to be memorable not only for the performances but also for its technical arrangements, including the massive LED screen and multilingual broadcasts.
The organizing team, led by founders Subhash Malik (Bobby) and Shubham Malik, is diligently preparing. This Ram Leela, initiated with the support of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has gained national and international recognition. It offers a golden opportunity for residents of Delhi and devotees from across the globe to enjoy this unique Ram Leela, either at Mavlankar Hall or on television. Both the October event in Delhi and the January event in Ayodhya will showcase the Ram Katha, inspiring devotion in millions of hearts.
Gorakhpur MP and Bhojpuri-Bollywood star Ravi Kishan will portray Lord Rama for the first time on October 19. Previously, he has played roles such as Kevat, Lord Parshuram, and Bharat. Arun Bakshi will take on the role of the demon king Ravana.
Bindu Dara Singh will appear as Lord Shiva, Puneet Issar as Lord Parshuram, Raza Murad as Ahiravan, and Avtar Gill as Meghnath. In total, over sixty film stars will participate in this Ram Leela. Rehearsals are currently being conducted by artists from Delhi and Mumbai.
The ninth edition in Ayodhya will run from January 15 to January 25, 2027. Seven successful editions have already been held in Ayodhya. This Ram Leela, permitted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the pandemic, has now become the largest in the world.
Subhash Malik notes that last year, over 620 million devotees watched the presentation from their homes. This year, it will be broadcast in 40 languages across more than 80 satellite channels, reaching over sixty countries. Viewers from around the world will be able to enjoy this grand presentation.
Ayodhya’s Ram Leela is not just a religious and cultural event; it also serves as a medium to connect children with the Ram Katha. Young children will bring the childhood form of God to life on stage, making this event even more special. The first edition in Delhi will allow residents to experience the grandeur of Ayodhya. Activities associated with the fair will create a divine atmosphere.
