New Delhi, June 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Friday that India’s development momentum remains robust. He emphasized that the central government will spare no effort in making life easier, streamlining business processes, and enhancing opportunities for the youth.
In a post on the social media platform X, PM Modi remarked, “India’s development momentum remains strong. The GDP growth rate of 7.7 percent for the fiscal year 2025-26 and 7.8 percent in the fourth quarter of the same year reflects the strength of our economy, the success of reforms, and the hard work of 1.4 billion Indians.”
The post also highlighted the government’s significant investments in major infrastructure projects, including highways, railways, ports, and airports.
India continues to be the fastest-growing economy globally, with other major economies showing much slower growth rates: Germany at 0.4 percent, Japan at 0.8 percent, the Eurozone at 1.3 percent, and G7 countries at 1.6 percent.
This economic growth occurs amidst instability due to the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict.
Government data indicates that the nominal GDP growth rate for the fiscal year 2025-26 was 8.9 percent. Additionally, real and nominal Gross Value Added (GVA) grew by 7.9 percent and 9.1 percent, respectively.
According to official statistics, the secondary and tertiary sectors performed strongly in the last fiscal year, with growth rates of 8.8 percent and 9.3 percent at constant prices.
The data also reveals that in fiscal year 2025-26, the manufacturing, trade, repair, hotel, transport, communication and broadcasting, storage services, and financial, real estate, and professional services sectors experienced double-digit growth rates at both constant and current prices.
