
Chennai, March 13: Indian Oil Corporation Limited has reassured the public that petrol and diesel are abundantly available across Tamil Nadu. Fuel supply at petrol stations continues to operate smoothly. The company confirmed that all its petroleum terminals and distribution centers in the state currently have sufficient stock to meet customer demand.
Indian Oil noted that some petrol stations experienced temporary shortages due to panic buying in certain areas. However, they clarified that there is no fuel shortage. In response to the sudden increase in demand, affected outlets are receiving additional supplies on a priority basis. The stock levels at petrol pumps across the state are being monitored continuously, and measures are being implemented to restore normal fuel availability.
The company urged the public to avoid panic buying or unnecessary hoarding, emphasizing that there is adequate availability of petrol and diesel and that the supply chain is functioning smoothly.
Additionally, Indian Oil advised against storing petrol in plastic containers, bottles, or other unauthorized vessels, as this poses serious safety risks.
The company reiterated its commitment to ensuring customer safety and uninterrupted fuel availability, assuring that petrol and diesel will remain accessible throughout Tamil Nadu.
Furthermore, M. Annadurai, the state-level coordinator for the oil industry in Tamil Nadu, stated that all public sector oil companies’ terminals, including those operated by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPC), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPC), have adequate fuel reserves. Fuel supply from refineries continues as usual, and production has been ramped up to ensure seamless distribution.
