New Delhi, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : On September 4, 2026, President Droupadi Murmu and several central ministers conveyed their best wishes to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.
In a post on X, President Murmu expressed her heartfelt greetings to all Indians, both at home and abroad. She highlighted the significance of Lord Krishna’s life and teachings, stating that they invigorate Indian culture and philosophy. “Let us all resolve to adopt Lord Krishna’s ideals and work continuously towards building an inclusive and developed India,” she wrote.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X, extending warm greetings to all citizens. He wished that the symbol of righteousness and public welfare, Lord Krishna, continues to bless everyone. “Jai Shri Krishna,” he added.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh shared similar sentiments, offering heartfelt wishes to the nation. He noted that the eternal message of the Bhagavad Gita inspires dedication, wisdom, patience, and public welfare. “May Lord Krishna’s grace ensure happiness, peace, prosperity, and joy in every family’s life,” he said.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari joined the chorus of well-wishers, sending his greetings for the joyous festival. “Jai Shri Krishna,” he remarked briefly.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi encouraged everyone to celebrate the divine birth of Lord Krishna and draw inspiration from his messages of duty, devotion, and righteousness.
Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna. According to ancient beliefs, he was born at midnight on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada to Devaki and Vasudeva. This festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country every year.
