Solar Revolution in Gariaband: PM Surya Home Scheme Brings Relief from Electricity Bills

Gariaband, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Residents of Gariaband are experiencing significant relief in their electricity expenses thanks to the Prime Minister’s Surya Home Scheme. Surendra Kumar Sen, a resident of Atarmara village, has installed a 3-kilowatt solar panel at his home. He reports a substantial decrease in his electricity bill since the installation, generating approximately 700 to 800 units of power over the past three months, even during the rainy season.

Sen notes that prior to the solar panel installation, his monthly electricity bill ranged from 900 to 1,100 rupees. Now, he claims that around 70 to 80 units of the electricity he produces are being fed back into the grid, leading to a bill that has nearly gone negative.

Under the PM Surya Home Scheme, Sen is set to receive a total subsidy of 108,000 rupees, with 78,000 rupees from the central government and 30,000 rupees from the state government. He emphasizes that this scheme has made it more affordable to install solar panels and has significantly reduced his electricity costs. The initiative is particularly beneficial for lower and middle-class families, extending its advantages to rural areas and helping them lower their domestic electricity expenses.

Sen appreciates the consistent power supply from the solar panel, which allows him to contribute surplus energy back to the grid. He believes that the positive impact on his electricity bill demonstrates the scheme’s importance for everyday people. Expressing gratitude towards the central and state governments, Sen highlights that this program is a game-changer for families struggling with high electricity costs.

The PM Surya Home Scheme aims to promote solar energy systems on residential rooftops. Sen’s experience exemplifies how installing solar panels can lead to both energy production and reduced electricity bills. He hopes that more families in rural areas will take advantage of such solar energy solutions, thanking the Prime Minister for providing this vital support to small and ordinary households.
