New Delhi, June 18: Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood inaugurated the Atal Incubation Center (AIC) at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) in Dwarka on Thursday. He emphasized that this center will play a crucial role in providing mentorship, guidance, and institutional support to students and young innovators, helping transform their innovations into successful startups.
During the inauguration ceremony, Sood remarked that today’s youth have moved beyond traditional thinking. Instead of merely seeking employment, they are focused on creating jobs. He shared that he has recently met several students developing innovative solutions in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and clean energy. Today’s youth are not just waiting for placements; they are creating platforms and technologies that will generate job opportunities for hundreds in the future. This shift is not a sudden change but the result of a significant movement fostered under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Referring to the Startup Youth Festival held on National Youth Day, January 12, he noted the passion for innovation he witnessed in the eyes of thousands of young participants. He stated that the event was more than just a gathering; it signified that Delhi’s youth are no longer willing to follow old paths and are ready to take risks to realize their big dreams.
Sood further stated that the time has passed when securing a safe job after college was the only dream for youth. Today’s young individuals do not complain about problems; instead, they turn challenges into opportunities by launching their startups.
In a media interaction following the event, Sood highlighted that the Atal Incubation Center, named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, along with NSUT, is creating an innovation ecosystem that will provide the necessary support for youth to work on and advance new ideas.
He mentioned that the initiative aims to empower youth to become self-reliant. An environment is being created where they are not afraid of failure, can progress in the right direction upon achieving success, and receive proper guidance from experienced experts. This initiative is expected to serve as a robust platform for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among youth. Sood expressed confidence that the joint efforts of NSUT and the Atal Incubation Center will inject new energy into Delhi’s startup ecosystem. He stated that this center will not only assist in developing new startups but also strengthen the country’s economic growth and the goal of a self-reliant India through technology-based solutions.
The Education Minister reiterated that the government’s objective is to transform youth from job seekers into job creators. He is hopeful that in the coming years, startups emerging from this center will gain recognition at both national and international levels, contributing to Delhi becoming the leading startup capital of the country.
