Bhubaneswar, July 23: The Commissionerate Police has intensified its investigation into the disappearance of two crucial reports from the Odisha Chief Minister‘s Office (CMO). In this context, the police summoned retired IAS officer and former BJD leader VK Pandian for questioning on Wednesday.
The notice issued by the police instructs VK Pandian to appear before the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Zone-1 on July 25 at 11 AM. He has also been asked to bring all relevant documents and electronic devices related to the case.
The police are investigating the missing reports, which include the Justice AS Naidu Commission report concerning the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and others, as well as the revenue divisional commissioner’s investigation report on the SUM Hospital fire incident.
As the investigation progresses, police are questioning several officials and staff associated with the CMO to locate the missing files and gather new leads in the case.
Previously, former IT secretary Manoj Mishra had also appeared at the Capital Police Station on July 18 after receiving a police notice. He was interrogated for about 30 minutes, during which investigators gathered information related to the missing reports.
Additionally, Rajesh Verma, the former principal secretary to then-Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, was also issued a notice by the police a few days ago. However, he has yet to present himself before the Capital Police.
The police team had earlier visited the Lok Seva Bhawan, where inquiries were made regarding the missing reports in the Home Department and General Administration (GA) Department.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing and all aspects are being thoroughly examined. If any new information emerges, further action will be taken based on that.
