
Srinagar, July 23: In response to a recent terrorist incident in Anantnag, the Srinagar Police has launched extensive raids across the district to dismantle networks that promote terrorism.
Based on reliable intelligence and ongoing investigations, these operations have resulted in the detention of approximately 700 suspected over ground workers for questioning and verification. This action was carried out in accordance with established legal procedures.
The primary aim of these operations is to identify and eliminate networks that provide logistical, financial, communication, transportation, shelter, and other forms of support to terrorist organizations.
Search operations were conducted at multiple locations throughout the district to gather evidence, identify suspects, and prevent any attempts by terrorist elements and their associates to engage in illegal activities.
This ongoing action is also a precautionary measure to maintain law and order, enhance security, and prevent anti-national elements from exploiting the current situation.

In the recent terrorist incident in Anantnag, one soldier was martyred. Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that he spoke with DGP Nalin Prabhat to assess the situation following the attack.
He expressed deep condolences to the family of Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, who lost his life in the line of duty. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the martyr’s family. He condemned the cowardly attack and vowed that the perpetrators would not be spared. The Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces are on the ground and will ensure justice is served.
