
Paris, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with several top CEOs and senior officials on Thursday, highlighting India’s rapidly expanding manufacturing and innovation ecosystem.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared on social media platform X that Prime Minister Modi engaged with Arthur Mench, co-founder and CEO of Mistral AI. The Prime Minister discussed the opportunities within India’s burgeoning AI ecosystem. Mench expressed a strong interest in collaborating with India and partnering with Indian companies to promote innovation and expand AI capabilities.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi met with Martin Sian, CEO of Alstom, focusing their discussion on opportunities in mobility and railway modernization. Jaiswal noted that Modi highlighted Alstom’s significant investments and manufacturing presence in India, which contribute to job creation and the development of the Indian rail sector. Sian shared Alstom’s plans for further expansion and investment in India.
The Prime Minister also met with Benoît Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain, where the conversation centered on opportunities in the materials and construction sector, with a focus on sustainability. The spokesperson mentioned that Modi emphasized Saint-Gobain’s strong presence and investment in India, creating opportunities for Indian youth. Bazin outlined the company’s plans for further investment and expansion in India.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi stated that “the India-France partnership is crucial for the progress of our planet.” On social media platform X, he wrote, “I just arrived in Paris, where the Indian community warmly welcomed me. I take pride in their efforts to bring India and France closer. The India-France partnership is essential for the progress of our planet.”
