New Delhi, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported on September 6 that they initiated retaliatory strikes in response to violations by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, Hezbollah fighters attempted to attack Israeli soldiers using drones. This action is considered a blatant violation of existing agreements.
In a post on the social media platform X, the IDF detailed that two drones were sent toward Israeli forces operating in the security zone of southern Lebanon. The soldiers successfully shot down one of the drones, and fortunately, no IDF personnel were reported injured. Following this incident, the IDF commenced attacks targeting Hezbollah fighters and their weapon storage sites in the region.
The IDF stated that these weapons were intended for orchestrating attacks against both Israeli soldiers and civilians in the security area. The actions taken were aimed at neutralizing immediate threats posed by these Hezbollah positions. This response follows a previous attack by the IDF on Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure in the Ali al-Tahar Ridge area, which had been rendered inactive last week.
The IDF asserted that militants within this underground network had launched attacks against Israel and its soldiers. This strategic network, developed over nearly two decades, was reportedly supported and financed by the Iranian regime. It contained command centers, arms depots, living quarters, and other facilities crucial for Hezbollah’s operations.
The situation remains tense as the IDF continues to monitor and respond to threats from Hezbollah in the region.
