Honoring Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan on Sampoorna Kranti Day

New Delhi, June 5: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary commemorated Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan on the occasion of Sampoorna Kranti Day, describing him as an extraordinary example of sacrifice, struggle, and integrity.

In a post on the social media platform X, CM Chaudhary expressed that on this significant day, we pay homage to the great ideology, people’s movement, and democratic consciousness that have redirected the politics and society of the nation. He honored Jayaprakash Narayan, a Bharat Ratna awardee, prominent freedom fighter, and source of inspiration for the masses, stating that his life exemplifies sacrifice, struggle, and integrity, which will always keep the nation aware and motivated.

Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also paid his respects, stating, “On the occasion of Sampoorna Kranti Day, I respectfully honor the great leader of the movement and freedom fighter, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan.”

Bihar government minister Vijay Sinha remarked that the Sampoorna Kranti movement, initiated by Jayaprakash Narayan on June 5, 1974, marks a significant chapter in the history of Indian democracy. This movement aimed to protect the rights of the marginalized, oppressed, and deprived sections of society, establish social justice, and bring about positive and comprehensive changes in the political, social, and economic systems. It was not merely a call for a change in power but a commitment to systemic transformation, which provided new direction to democratic values, public participation, and social consciousness in the country. On this day, let us honor the thoughts and ideals of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan and pledge to build an equitable, just, and empowered India.

JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha wrote that on this Sampoorna Kranti Day, he pays tribute to the great socialist leader and Bharat Ratna, Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan, who sounded the trumpet of Sampoorna Kranti from Gandhi Maidan in Patna on June 5, 1974, to save democracy from the Congress’s authoritarian rule. His thoughts and ideals will continue to inspire JD(U) workers.

Umesh Kushwaha, the state president of Bihar JD(U), also honored Jayaprakash Narayan, stating that the example he set for the protection of democracy, social justice, and anti-corruption awareness remains a source of inspiration for the citizens of the country today.
