Ambala, February 13: Haryana’s post offices have launched a commendable initiative to make religious offerings more accessible. Devotees no longer need to travel to Haridwar or other pilgrimage sites to obtain Ganga water.

Pure Ganga water is now available for just ₹30 at various post offices across the state, including Ambala. This initiative allows people to use Ganga water for their religious rituals at home, especially in light of the upcoming Mahashivratri festival.

The postal department aims to reach those who, for various reasons, cannot undertake pilgrimage journeys. The Ganga water is provided in safe, sealed packaging and can be easily obtained from post offices.

There is a notable excitement among the public regarding this service, with many devotees visiting post offices to purchase Ganga water.

In an interview, Postmaster General Vijay Kumar explained that many devotees bring Ganga water from Haridwar to offer to deities during Mahashivratri. However, for those unable to make the trip, the postal department has arranged this service.

He mentioned that the small bottle of Ganga water is available for ₹30, which includes the cost of the bottle and transportation; no charge is applied for the Ganga water itself. This service is available at post offices in Ambala and surrounding areas.

A customer, Brijmohan, praised the initiative, stating that it is highly commendable, especially for those who cannot travel to Haridwar. He noted that the low price makes it accessible for everyone to benefit from this service during the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri.
