Mathura, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Aniruddhacharya, a prominent storyteller, has shared his thoughts on the appointment of Jitendra Mishra as the new CEO of the Ram Temple. Speaking on Friday, he expressed optimism about Mishra’s ability to fulfill his responsibilities with honesty. He hopes that divine guidance will assist him in this endeavor.
Aniruddhacharya emphasized that temples in Sanatan Dharma serve purposes beyond worship. They play a crucial role in community service, including running gurukuls, promoting Vedic teachings, and protecting cows. These functions are essential to the mission of temples.
He cited the example of his own Gauri Gopal Temple, which, though small, is active in various social initiatives. Currently, 175 children receive education there, and the temple houses around 400 cows and over 150 bulls. Additionally, the temple provides daily meals for thousands through its community kitchen. Plans are underway to establish a school offering free education from grades one to twelve, affiliated with the CBSE.
Aniruddhacharya believes that if a small temple can achieve such significant social impact, the Ram Temple has the potential to do even more for society. He suggested that funds generated by the temple should be directed towards promoting Vedic studies, establishing gurukuls, and supporting social projects that benefit the nation.
He also discussed the financial support for the military, stating that assisting the armed forces through temple funds could be a commendable initiative. However, he raised concerns about the evolving purpose of temples over time, questioning their current roles and objectives.
Regarding the recent changes in the temple trust, including the removal of Champat Rai and the appointment of Govind Dev Giri as the new secretary, Aniruddhacharya noted that he was not present at the meeting where these decisions were made. Therefore, he refrained from commenting on the matter, stating that he would have provided input if consulted.
As the festival of Janmashtami approaches, Aniruddhacharya encouraged everyone to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna joyfully. He advised people to prepare their homes, bathe in the morning, and engage in worship, culminating in a heartfelt evening celebration. He also highlighted the importance of chanting and singing devotional songs.
While acknowledging that the ways of celebrating festivals have changed, he asserted that the essence of Janmashtami remains unchanged. People’s participation in festivities varies according to their available time—some may hold grand celebrations, while others may choose simple home worship.
On the topic of reservations, Aniruddhacharya expressed that support should be provided to those in need. However, he stressed that once individuals become financially independent, assistance should be redirected to those who genuinely require it. He advocated for ensuring that benefits reach the truly needy, rather than being misallocated to those who no longer need help.
