Chandigarh, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : The Haryana government is taking significant steps to enhance the quality of education for its students. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini announced on September 7 that the state will provide 500,000 data SIM cards to assist students in acquiring essential technical skills.
This decision was made during a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee, chaired by the Chief Minister. Attendees included Higher Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Cooperation and Tourism Minister Arvind Sharma, Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao, and several senior officials.
In addition to the data SIMs, the government plans to distribute 500,000 tablets to students in grades 10 through 12. The initiative aims to ensure that students have the necessary resources to meet contemporary educational demands.
The meeting also approved the purchase of tubular-type lead-acid batteries for Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, which includes five different types of batteries.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister sanctioned the operation of the Asandh Sugar Mill for one year, with an estimated expenditure of ₹11.90 crore. This budget covers annual overhauls, repairs, maintenance, and equipment costs.
Additionally, 59 advanced life-saving ambulances were approved under the National Health Mission, with 33 designated for the southern region and 26 for the northern region. The meeting also greenlit service-related projects exceeding ₹90 crore.
Senior officials present at the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Sumita Mishra, Principal Secretary Vijay Singh Dahiya, and several departmental directors.
