Chandigarh, June 18: Haryana has successfully completed the geo-referencing of 1.75 crore agricultural plots and nearly 96% of its villages under the AgriStack program. Additionally, over 1.15 million farmers have been registered, and 832,000 farmer identification documents have been prepared. The remaining villages are expected to be covered within the next two months.
This information was reviewed during a steering committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi on Thursday.
Chief Secretary Rastogi stated that the AgriStack initiative is laying the foundation for transparent and data-driven agricultural administration by integrating farmers’ records, land ownership information, and crop-related data into a single digital platform. Once fully implemented, this system will expedite the delivery of government schemes to farmers, reduce redundancy, and ensure that welfare programs reach the intended beneficiaries.
The meeting revealed that geo-referencing has been completed in 6,808 out of 7,100 villages, achieving a total coverage of 95.89%. This digital mapping is considered a crucial basis for the proposed digital crop survey and the establishment of a certified farmer registry in the state.
Revenue Commissioner Sumita Mishra reported that the registration process under the farmer registry is being expedited through Common Service Centers (CSCs) across the state. With these centers actively registering farmers, an increase in enrollment is anticipated in the coming days.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to resolve pending verification cases promptly and to connect all land records with existing and new farmer identification cards in mission mode to complete the farmer registry. He emphasized the need for robust monitoring at the district level to achieve targets within the deadline and instructed regular review meetings.
Preparations for the Kharif 2026 digital crop survey were also discussed during the meeting. This survey will cover all geo-referenced plots across 23 districts in the state, involving approximately 6,500 surveyors, and is expected to commence in August this year.
Officials indicated that the database of approximately 1.75 crore farmer records available in the revenue department will be utilized to expand the farmer registry, including those farmers who are not beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi emphasized that integrating land records, crop data, and the farmer database will create a strong and reliable digital framework for the agricultural sector, facilitating better decision-making based on facts and figures.
