Ghaziabad, September 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently hosted a week-long training course focused on economic crime investigations for officials from 13 member countries of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program. This training took place from August 27 to September 2 at the CBI Academy in Ghaziabad.
During the course, CBI Additional Director N. Venu Gopal addressed participants, emphasizing that the impact of economic crime investigations often extends beyond geographical borders. He engaged with attendees, discussing best practices essential for the investigation and prosecution of cases related to economic offenses.
The training aimed to enhance awareness, knowledge, and practical skills among participants. It also provided insights into the challenges, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices necessary for effectively handling economic crime cases.
A total of 30 officials from ITEC member countries, including Bhutan, Fiji, the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, the Maldives, Mauritius, Mexico, Oman, Tanzania, Thailand, and Zambia, participated in this comprehensive program.
The closing ceremony was held on September 2 at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi, where N. Venu Gopal highlighted the significance of investigating economic crimes and their various forms, as well as their broader implications beyond national boundaries.
