Harshita Gaur on Overcoming Pressure to Look Perfect in Showbiz

Mumbai, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Harshita Gaur, known for her role in “Mirzapur,” recently opened up about the constant pressure to appear perfect in the entertainment industry. In an exclusive interview, she emphasized that the choice to feel this pressure ultimately lies with the individual.

Gaur noted that audiences today are becoming more accepting of diverse body types and skin tones, provided they align with the character being portrayed. She expressed her willingness to experiment with her looks if a role demands it, calling it an exciting aspect of being an actor.

When asked about the intense pressure to look good in showbiz, Gaur shared, “I am open to experimenting, especially if the character requires it. It’s fun. We are in this field because we get the chance to experiment; otherwise, we wouldn’t be here.”

Discussing how she manages the pressure of always being camera-ready, she acknowledged its existence but added, “You can either take on that pressure or not. I believe it entirely depends on you.”

Reflecting on the past, Gaur recalled a time before social media when societal expectations were still prevalent, albeit less scrutinized. She pointed out that many successful actors today forgo makeup to stay true to their characters.

Citing Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor as an example, Gaur mentioned a film where Kapoor appeared without makeup. “When the role demands it, people have become more comfortable showing their true selves,” she said.

This candid conversation sheds light on the evolving standards of beauty and authenticity in the film industry.
