New Delhi, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : In response to escalating tensions in the Middle East, the U.S. embassies have issued security alerts for American citizens. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported that this advisory affects U.S. citizens residing in Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Iraq, Israel, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Jolfaghari of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran has raised its alert level to the highest status, dubbed “Code 100,” due to potential threats in the region.
Former President Donald Trump made a surprise return to the White House from Camp David late Saturday. Meanwhile, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu has curtailed his visit to the U.S. and is returning to Israel.
The U.S. embassy in Iraq has also issued warnings, indicating that security conditions are precarious and could deteriorate rapidly. Americans currently in the Middle East are advised to remain vigilant, considering the possibility of flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.
The U.S. embassy noted that Iranian-backed Houthi forces have been involved in attacks against Saudi Arabia, including targeting civilian airports. The military conflict in the region could escalate swiftly.
Americans traveling to or from the area should stay informed about airport operations and airline schedules. U.S. diplomatic missions have been targeted, including those outside the Middle East. Iran and its allied groups may also target American interests globally, including businesses and other entities associated with the U.S.
