Mumbai, September 20 (Daily Kiran) : Salma Hayek, the renowned Hollywood actress, once pulled a clever stunt to adopt a puppy while assuring her businessman husband, François-Henri Pinault, that she was involved in an affair. This amusing revelation came to light during her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
At the time, Hayek and Pinault already shared their home with nearly 30 animals, including dogs, parrots, alpacas, horses, and cats. She had promised her husband not to bring any more pets into their household. However, while filming in Bulgaria, she stumbled upon a tiny stray puppy and couldn’t bear the thought of leaving it behind.
To convince her husband, Hayek devised a playful plan. She decided to make him believe she was having an affair, thinking that when he reached peak suspicion, she would reveal the truth.
In her own words, she recounted, “My husband warned me, ‘No more dogs,’ so I promised him. I thought, ‘I’ll make him believe I’m having an affair, and in the end, I’ll tell him it’s not what he thinks.’”
When she called him, she started with, “We need to talk,” a phrase that immediately alarmed him.
Upon hearing her serious tone, Pinault responded anxiously, “Oh please, don’t tell me you’ve adopted another dog.”
Hayek and Pinault began dating in 2006, tying the knot in Paris on February 14, 2009, followed by a grand celebration in Venice. The couple shares a daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, born in 2007.
