Gunfire Erupts in Delhis Nand Nagri, Three Homes Targeted by Unknown Assailants

Nand Nagri, New Delhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Panic swept through Nand Nagri in New Delhi on Friday night as unknown assailants opened fire outside three homes. The incident, which occurred in the D-2 block of the Nand Nagri police station area, also involved vandalism of parked vehicles nearby. Upon receiving reports of the shooting, police quickly arrived at the scene to investigate.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with one woman stating that approximately 50 masked individuals attacked their homes. She alleged that the violence stems from a dispute involving her daughter seven years ago, leading to repeated incidents of gunfire and stone-pelting outside their residence. The woman expressed concern for her family’s safety, noting that threats have escalated to include physical assaults on her sons and warnings of potential gun violence against their children.

She recounted that the attacks occurred late at night while her family was inside. Had they not been home, she feared someone could have been seriously injured or killed. The ongoing threats have left the family in a state of distress.

Earlier on the same day, a separate incident in the nearby Gokalpuri area resulted in a young man shooting a woman before turning the gun on himself. The man, identified as Neeraj, died at the scene, while the woman sustained serious injuries. Police found Neeraj, 32, bleeding in a room on the first floor of a home, with a revolver nearby. Initial investigations revealed that the revolver was registered under his father’s name. Forensic teams were summoned to gather evidence from the location.
