Gandhinagar, August 25: In a heartwarming initiative, the Anganwadi sisters of Gujarat have sent over 450,000 Rakhis to soldiers stationed at the border as part of the “One Rakhi for the Nation’s Soldiers” campaign. The event took place in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Minister of Women and Child Development Dr. Manishaben Vakil, who presented the Rakhi offerings to the officers of the soldiers at the border.
On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Anganwadi sisters expressed their respect, gratitude, and affection for the brave soldiers who serve the nation day and night. The Rakhis symbolize protection and were sent to honor those dedicated to safeguarding the country’s borders while being away from their families.
Under the guidance of Minister Dr. Manishaben Vakil, the Anganwadi sisters crafted these Rakhis to protect the soldiers who are committed to defending the nation. For the past three years, Gujarat has been running this commendable campaign to remind these soldiers that their mothers and sisters are with them in spirit.
Through the Rakhis, the sisters have turned the festival of sibling love into a patriotic celebration. The protective threads are being worn by soldiers from the Army, BSF, and CRPF, and have been accepted by the NDRF personnel based in Gandhinagar.
The event was also attended by Rakesh Shankar, Secretary of Women and Child Development, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Women and Child Development, senior officials from the department, as well as Anganwadi workers and personnel from the CRPF and NDRF.
