Lucknow, May 21: Gopal Rai, the national president of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, held a press conference on Wednesday, raising serious concerns about the increasing cases of abduction, love jihad, trafficking, and forced conversions of Hindu girls.
Rai accused that a well-organized network for love jihad and conversions is operating across the country, including Uttar Pradesh, while the administration has failed to take effective action.
He pointed out the alarming trend of Hindu daughters going missing and being converted in various parts of the country, yet there has been no substantial action from the authorities. He specifically mentioned the case of a girl from the Tyagi family in Ghaziabad, along with six other young women who are currently missing.
Rai alleged that Badar Akhtar Siddiqui from Meerut has abducted dozens of Hindu girls, including Asha Negi and Priya Tyagi, luring them into the love jihad trap. Priya Tyagi’s family even announced a reward of two lakh rupees, but the girls have not yet been recovered.
He revealed that Siddiqui operates his gang from Saudi Arabia. Rai also mentioned the recent abduction of an 18-year-old Hindu girl in the Dubagga police station area, who remains missing. A week ago, the police at Chinhat had refused to file an FIR, but after strict directives from the DCP East, the case was registered. However, police action has been notably slow.
He expressed concern that despite the BJP being in power at the center and in several states, there is a lack of stringent action in such cases, raising serious questions about the administration’s commitment. Rai warned that if the authorities do not act promptly and effectively, the Vishva Hindu Parishad workers will take to the streets to initiate a large-scale movement, placing the entire responsibility on the administration.
He demanded immediate recovery of all missing Hindu girls and called for a high-level investigation into the love jihad and conversion network, urging strict legal action against the culprits.
During the conference, the Vishva Hindu Parishad announced the appointment of Priyanka Thakur as the national president of the Women Empowerment Wing. Following her appointment, Thakur stated that she would fulfill her responsibilities with utmost dedication and commitment. She emphasized that campaigns will be launched nationwide for the safety of Hindu daughters, women’s awareness, and empowerment.
