Panaji, April 1: Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant submitted his self-enumeration for the 2027 Census on Wednesday. This initiative marks Goa’s participation in a nationwide effort aimed at compiling accurate and comprehensive data.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the census is not merely a numbers game; it serves as a crucial foundation for the development of both the state and the country. According to him, without accurate data, it becomes challenging for any government to formulate effective plans. This data will ultimately aid in enhancing infrastructure, healthcare services, education, and government schemes.
Pramod Sawant stated that when the government possesses accurate information, it can better understand the needs of the people and make informed decisions accordingly. This not only accelerates development but also ensures that benefits reach every segment of society.
He urged citizens to actively participate in this process and utilize the self-enumeration facility, available until April 15. He stressed that the involvement of every citizen is essential, as future policies and plans will be based on this data.
The Chief Minister pointed out that this process is not solely the government’s responsibility; every citizen must contribute equally. When individuals come forward to provide accurate information, it strengthens the entire system and reduces the likelihood of incorrect or incomplete data.
He explained that the data obtained through the census helps the government determine where the greatest needs lie, whether it involves constructing roads, opening hospitals, or increasing the number of schools and colleges.
