New Delhi, August 30: Gaurav Vallabh, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, responded to statements made by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visits, and the Haldwani controversy.
In a discussion regarding Bhagwat’s remarks, Vallabh stated, “Mohan Bhagwat conveyed a message of Sanatan from New York. He emphasized that diversity is not our weakness but rather an adornment of unity. This was the same message he delivered in Delhi in 2018 and in Mumbai in 2021. Opposition members are misrepresenting this as a changed stance.” He urged Owaisi to clarify whether he stands against or in support of Bhagwat’s statement.
Vallabh further remarked, “The politics of appeasement is not beneficial for India’s unity and integrity. Not everything should be politicized. We respect all religions. However, the rhetoric from Congress and Owaisi reflects a politics of appeasement that seems to oppose India’s diversity.”
On Prime Minister Modi‘s foreign trips, Vallabh summarized the announcements in three words: energy security, economic expansion, and strategic trust. He noted that Modi reiterated these points abroad. The trade between India and Uzbekistan, currently at $1 trillion, aims to reach $5 billion by 2030. This will empower India’s MSMEs and create jobs, particularly in the pharma, engineering, automobile, and digital services sectors. Both nations are keen to collaborate in areas like UPI, AI, critical minerals, uranium, and green energy.
He added, “PM Modi’s foreign visits are not just announcements; they are being implemented on the ground. Recent FTAs have benefited the country. The ‘Nation First’ policy is the cornerstone of India’s foreign policy.”
Addressing internal politics within Congress and the Haldwani issue, Vallabh targeted Rahul Gandhi, stating, “Rahul Gandhi continually disrespects Kharge, who is the president of Congress and speaks on decisions that the high command will decide. He should clarify who this high command is.”
