
Dehradun, July 18: The Garhwali film ‘Dholi’ has won the prestigious ‘Silver Lotus Award’ for Best Garhwali Film in the feature film category at the 72nd National Film Awards. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the people of Uttarakhand, describing this moment as historic for the state’s cinema.
CM Dhami shared his happiness on the social media platform ‘X’, stating that this honor represents not just the success of a film but also the cultural heritage and identity of regional cinema in Uttarakhand. He extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the film’s director, producers, actors, and the entire team for this achievement.
He remarked, “The positive impact of Uttarakhand’s new film policy is now clearly visible. The policies created by the state government to promote film production are providing new opportunities for local artists, directors, and producers. As a result, Uttarakhand cinema is establishing a strong identity on the national stage.”
Dhami emphasized that the state government’s aim is not only to promote film shooting but also to showcase local language, culture, folk art, and traditions to the country and the world.
