French President Emmanuel Macron Meets Bollywood Stars in Mumbai

Mumbai, February 17: French President Emmanuel Macron met with Bollywood stars during his visit to India. In Mumbai, he interacted with renowned actors including Manoj Bajpayee, Anil Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, actress Richa Chadha, and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar.

President Macron shared photos from the meeting on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “With the giants of Indian cinema, culture connects us.”

This meeting highlights the growing cultural collaboration between India and France. The strategic partnership between the two nations is increasingly supported by cultural exchanges.

During his Mumbai visit, a bilateral meeting took place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Macron at Lok Bhawan. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and several senior officials were present at the meeting.

Before the meeting, both leaders warmly greeted each other. PM Modi expressed on ‘X’, “Happy to meet my friend President Macron in Mumbai. He mentioned that he loves this city and enjoyed his morning run.”

At the start of his India tour, President Macron and his wife paid tribute to the victims of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. Later, he had extensive discussions with PM Modi.

Both leaders will also launch the ‘India-France Year of Innovation 2026’. Macron’s visit is expected to give new momentum to defense, technology, innovation, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

President Macron was welcomed at Mumbai Airport by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Governor Acharya Devvrat.

PM Modi stated in his welcome message that this visit will be crucial in elevating India-France cooperation to new heights and contributing to global progress.
