Chennai, July 1: C. Vijayabaskar, the former Health Minister of Tamil Nadu and ex-MLA from AIADMK, has officially announced his decision to join the Tamilga Vetrikazhagam (TVK) led by Chief Minister Vijay. This move is seen as a significant political victory for the ruling party, which has been successfully attracting senior opposition leaders.
The joining ceremony will take place on Thursday, July 2, at 9 AM at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Mamallapuram. During this event, Vijayabaskar will formally take membership in TVK in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay and other senior party leaders.
Vijayabaskar has previously represented the Viralimai Assembly constituency in Pudukkottai district and served as the Health Minister in the last AIADMK government. Recently, he resigned from his legislative position, leading to speculation about his political future. Now, he has confirmed his entry into TVK.
