Former Deputy Head Shot Dead in Jharkhand, Shocking Incident Unfolds

Chaibasa, June 1: In a shocking incident, Sanjay Boypai (44), a former deputy head of the Gulkeda Panchayat in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, was shot dead by unidentified assailants late Sunday night at his home. The incident has created a wave of fear in the area.

According to police reports, the shooting occurred in the Guigaon area of the Chakradharpur police station jurisdiction. Sanjay Boypai was a farmer by profession, supporting his family through agriculture. He was known for his active social involvement in the Gulkeda Panchayat.

Family members stated that Sanjay was sleeping in his courtyard after dinner when two to three masked attackers arrived on a motorcycle around midnight. They entered his home and shot him in the head while he was asleep. He died instantly from the gunshot wound. After committing the crime, the assailants fled the scene.

Hearing the gunfire, family members and nearby villagers rushed to the location, but the attackers had already escaped. Local police arrived shortly after receiving the report and initiated an investigation. The body has been taken for post-mortem, and evidence is being collected from the crime scene, with inquiries being conducted among local residents.

Authorities are working diligently to uncover the motives behind the murder and identify the attackers. The incident has left the village and surrounding areas in a state of fear and anger, with locals demanding the swift arrest of the criminals.

Police officials have stated that they are making every effort to gather leads and apprehend the suspects.
