
Vijayanagaram, March 21: Incidents of fires in private buses continue to pose a significant risk. Recently, a moving bus in Vijayanagaram district caught fire unexpectedly. Fortunately, passengers were evacuated promptly, preventing a major disaster. However, the bus was completely destroyed by the flames.
According to reports, the bus traveling from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, to Malakajgiri caught fire near Tarapuram in the Ramabhadrapuram mandal of Vijayanagaram district after its rear tire burst. The driver acted swiftly, stopping the bus and ensuring all passengers were safely evacuated, resulting in no injuries. Shortly after, the bus was engulfed in flames. There were 37 passengers on board, including a legislator from Odisha.
Firefighters arrived at the scene promptly and managed to extinguish the blaze, but by then, the bus had been reduced to ashes. The incident caused panic among the passengers, and local authorities arranged for another bus to transport them to their destination. Meanwhile, local police are investigating the cause of the fire.
Notably, a similar incident occurred on March 7 in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra, where a private bus traveling from Indore to Akola caught fire. This incident took place near Nandura on National Highway 56, and all 30 passengers were evacuated safely. Additionally, on March 13, a private bus caught fire at the Rajasthan-Gujarat border, resulting in one passenger sustaining serious injuries, although others were safely rescued. This particular bus was on its third trip with passengers.
