Jhajjar, August 25: In a recent controversy surrounding Congress MP Deepender Hooda, Congress legislator Kuldeep Vats from Jhajjar responded on Monday. Vats accused the BJP IT cell of orchestrating a plot to defame Hooda.
Speaking to reporters, Vats stated, “If Deepender Hooda has ever referred to Sajjan Kumar as his role model or ideal, let them provide evidence; otherwise, he will retire from politics. Deepender Hooda is highly respected among us. He is a true warrior. Such statements are made solely to tarnish his image.”
The controversy began after a letter from senior Congress leader Kuldeep Sharma expressed dissatisfaction over Hooda’s alleged remarks. In response, Vats emphasized, “Hooda and Kuldeep Sharma share a strong bond. Differences may exist, but not enmity. Sharma should discuss matters with Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and K.C. Venugopal instead of writing letters that reach BJP leaders. Coincidentally, Punjab’s Channi also writes a letter; this cannot be mere coincidence.”
Vats targeted the BJP, claiming that the party has a fixed agenda aimed at influencing the upcoming Punjab elections. He remarked, “Punjab is the land of heroes. The BJP should understand that no matter what they do, people will not be swayed.”
Defending Deepender Hooda, Vats stated that political interests are dividing society. He asserted, “Caste and religion are never bad; some individuals may be. Deepender Hooda has clearly stated that if any colleague felt offended by his words, he apologizes. He harbors no animosity towards any community.”
Expressing outrage over caste and religious politics, Vats declared that Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians are all brothers, and some leaders are merely working to poison society. He sharply stated, “If a Congress leader speaks the language of hatred, the party will not grow strong.”
Vats reiterated that Deepender Hooda respects all religions and communities and is being deliberately targeted to weaken the Congress party.
