
New Delhi, June 20: A massive fire erupted on Saturday in an electrical goods warehouse located in the Shahdara area of New Delhi. The incident occurred in a warehouse on Street Number 7 of Bihari Colony, causing panic among local residents.
Upon receiving the alert, the Delhi Fire Service promptly dispatched six fire engines to the scene. Firefighters worked diligently to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
Fire Station Officer Anoop Singh reported that the warehouse, used for storing electrical goods, was locked at the time of the incident. When the team arrived, they found the gate shut, with electrical materials stored inside. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from this incident.
Singh mentioned that after considerable effort, the fire was brought under control. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway. A team is being formed to inspect other locations in the area.
“We received the fire alert around 4:50-4:51 AM. Upon arrival, we discovered it was an electronic goods warehouse. We made every effort to control the fire, which took us about an hour,” Singh added.
Earlier on Friday, two other fire incidents were reported. One occurred at a snack manufacturing factory near Dwarka Metro Station, while the other took place at a wooden furniture showroom in the Mangolpuri area of North Delhi.
The fire department stated that the fire at the snack factory spread across a tin-shed structure covering approximately 300 square yards. Fire engines were dispatched at around 3:30 AM, and the blaze was brought under control without any casualties.
