Indore, March 28: Kuldeep Chaudhary and his 18-year-old son Monish have been remanded to two days of police custody following their arrest on charges of murdering software engineer Shampa Pandey. Shampa had recently moved into a new flat in the Shiv Vatika Township in Indore with her family.
The police presented Kuldeep and Monish in the district court, seeking custody for interrogation. Authorities indicated that they plan to take the suspects to the crime scene for identification by local residents.
A team from Lasudia police station visited Shiv Vatika Township on Friday evening to conduct investigations. They questioned several residents who were present during the incident on Wednesday night.
The police also sought information regarding Kuldeep and his son’s behavior, as well as details about their properties, including a penthouse.
Gaurav Naik, the president of the Resident Welfare Association, reported that the police team arrived in the evening asking for information about Kuldeep’s flats. He mentioned that a forensic team also visited the scene to collect samples.
Shampa Pandey’s last rites were conducted after the arrival of her family members, including her sister and relatives from Jalaun and Ayodhya districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Born and raised in Jalaun, Shampa was the wife of Saurabh Pandey, whose family hails from Ayodhya. The couple had two minor sons. Shampa had moved into her flat on the first floor of the building with her elderly in-laws on March 13. The family is currently in shock following this tragic event.
On Wednesday night, Kuldeep Chaudhary had an argument with several residents, including Shampa’s husband, Saurabh Pandey. This confrontation escalated when he called his son Monish to the scene.
A murder case has already been filed following the arrest of the father and son.
