Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Calls for Change in Kerala Amidst Allegations of Collusion Between LDF and BJP

Kozhikode, April 7: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, campaigning for the Kerala elections, stated that a change is on the horizon. She criticized both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging collusion between the two parties.

While addressing the media in Kozhikode, Priyanka emphasized that the public has become aware of the alliance between the LDF and BJP. She pointed out that there has been no progress for the people over the past decade. “Talk to the people; they are struggling with unemployment and rising prices. In a state like Kerala, the citizens are distressed and are beginning to understand the need for change,” she remarked.

Regarding women’s reservation, Priyanka stated that if the Prime Minister genuinely wanted all parties to come together for discussion, he should at least engage with them. “We have no information about what they intend to do,” she added.

She further stressed the importance of dialogue in a democracy, saying, “What you do should be agreeable to all. At the very least, there should be discussions. If I want to create a policy for you, I would want to know your preferences. The government should engage in discussions when formulating policies.”

Priyanka urged the government to listen to the voices of the people, stating, “Whether you agree with us or not, at least have a conversation. The government is acting unilaterally without engaging in dialogue.”

In a related event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Dibrugarh, Assam, where he criticized Congress for delaying the women’s reservation issue. He highlighted that the NDA has passed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which will ensure 33% reservation for women in both the national and Assam assemblies. Modi announced that a special session of Parliament will take place on April 16, 17, and 18, during which amendments to the women’s reservation law will be discussed, aiming to ensure that more women are elected in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
