Kolkata, April 7: BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar has launched a sharp attack on TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the upcoming assembly elections. He stated that the people of Shantipur are wise and know who to vote for.
In an interview with a news agency, Sarkar claimed that Banerjee is aware that her support is dwindling. Consequently, fewer people are attending her election rallies, and a significant defeat for TMC is anticipated. He asserted that this time, the voters in Shantipur will not support her.
Supporting Prime Minister Modi’s recent remarks about Bengal, BJP leader Arjun Singh stated that the region is no longer under ‘jungle raj’ but rather a ‘mahajungle raj.’ He expressed confidence that Ganga Maiya will cleanse the state, moving from Bihar to the Bay of Bengal.
Regarding the inclusion of leaders from other parties into the BJP, Singh remarked that a tsunami is building against Mamata Banerjee in Bengal. He noted that everyone is uniting against her, and the misgovernance under her leadership will be ended by the double-engine government led by Prime Minister Modi. Singh welcomed those who dream of a developed Bengal into the party.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has advised party workers to remain vigilant on counting day, as misleading news may circulate in the early hours, suggesting that BJP candidates are leading in many seats.
She urged her workers to create an atmosphere of confidence in the morning, indicating that their candidates are ahead, but not to lose hope. She emphasized the importance of waiting until the end, assuring them that victory will ultimately be theirs. Workers were instructed not to leave until the counting is complete.
