Notorious Snatcher Imtiaz Arrested in New Delhi, Five Mobile Phones Recovered

New Delhi, April 6: The police have apprehended a notorious criminal involved in multiple incidents of snatching, robbery, and theft in the Shakarpur area of the capital. According to Delhi Police, five mobile phones were recovered from the accused.

The arrested individual has been identified as Intzar, also known as Imtiaz, aged 30, a resident of Trilokpuri in East Delhi. Police investigations revealed that he has previously been involved in 24 criminal cases, including snatching, robbery, theft, violations of the Arms Act, and other serious offenses.

A police officer reported that a complaint regarding a mobile phone theft was filed on February 17 near Mother Dairy Road, Shakarpur. Following this, a special team was formed for the investigation, which included Sub-Inspector Anubhav, Sub-Inspector Praveen, Head Constable Rahul, and Gautam, operating under the supervision of the SHO of Shakarpur and ACP of Preet Vihar.

The police team reviewed CCTV footage from nearby areas and gathered information from local informants. During routine patrols and surveillance, they stopped a suspicious individual near the Akshardham flyover. Upon questioning and searching, five mobile phones were found in his possession. When asked about the phones, he was unable to provide any satisfactory answers.

According to police officials, when Intzar remained silent, suspicion arose, leading to his arrest. During rigorous questioning at the station, he confessed to his crimes.

Police stated that the accused targeted individuals in crowded areas, swiftly stealing mobile phones and fleeing the scene. To evade capture, he frequently changed his hideouts and earned money by selling the stolen phones.

Currently, the accused has been taken into custody and sent to judicial remand. The police are continuing their investigation to determine if others are involved in his network.

A special team has been formed to recover more stolen mobile phones based on Intzar’s statements, and the recovered phones will soon be returned to their rightful owners.
