New Delhi, June 5: A violent incident occurred late Thursday night outside a liquor store in Shalimar Bagh village, located in northwestern New Delhi. The altercation, which began as a minor argument, escalated into a bloody confrontation, resulting in the death of one individual.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Sumit Kumar Jha, who was fatally stabbed during the clash. Reports indicate that Jha sustained severe injuries from the knife attack and was rushed to Fortis Hospital by his family, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Family members have alleged that there was a delay in treatment at Fortis Hospital due to issues with payment, which they claim contributed to Jha’s death.
According to sources, Jha was originally from Madhubani district in Bihar and resided in Shalimar Bagh with his family.
The police have registered a murder case and have taken several suspects into custody. They are also reviewing CCTV footage and investigating the allegations against the hospital. Following the incident, residents of Shalimar Bagh expressed outrage and fear, while the victim’s family has called for justice from the authorities.
In a related incident, a shocking murder case emerged from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a man named Naseem brutally killed his wife, Sana (25), by striking her on the head with a brick. After the incident, he fled with their three-year-old son, Ali Hamza, but abandoned the child before escaping on a private bus.
SP (Rural) Kunwar Akash Singh stated that a case has been registered based on the complaint, and legal actions are underway. Initial investigations suggest that the accused had a history of substance abuse, which may have led to the dispute and subsequent murder. Neighbors and children are being questioned, and a team is being formed to apprehend the suspect, who is expected to be arrested soon.
