Shocking Murder of Former Deputy Head Uncovered in Chaibasa, Five Arrested

Chaibasa, June 5: Police in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district have made significant progress in the murder case of former deputy head Sanjay Boypoi. Five suspects, including the main conspirator, have been arrested.

Authorities recovered a locally made firearm, live cartridges, two motorcycles, and mobile phones based on the suspects’ information. According to Chaibasa’s SDPO Bahaman Tuti, the arrested individuals include Suresh Soy (20), Captain Honhonga alias Tata (31), Gune Hindu Angaria alias Mota (22), Budhu Bodra (27), and Biju Chaudhary (31), with Biju identified as the primary conspirator.

The incident occurred on June 1 around 12:10 AM when Sanjay Boypoi, a resident of Guigaon and former deputy head, was sleeping in his courtyard. Intruders entered the house and shot him. Sanjay Boypoi succumbed to his injuries on the spot, causing widespread panic in the area. In light of the seriousness of the case, Superintendent of Police Amit Renu ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by the ASP and SDPO of Chaibasa.

The team initiated the investigation using technical evidence and mobile location data. Acting on precise information, police apprehended the five suspects involved in the crime. The investigation revealed a long-standing land dispute and personal enmity between the deceased and the main accused, Biju Chaudhary.

Police stated that this rivalry prompted Biju to conspire with the other suspects to carry out the murder. The arrested individuals have reportedly confessed their involvement during interrogation. Authorities have also seized the weapon used in the crime along with other items. The process of sending all suspects into judicial custody is underway. The SIT includes Chaibasa station in-charge Avadhesh Kumar, SI Parmeshwar Uraon, Ranjit Uraon, Rajkishore Tiwari, Birbal Chaube, Dilip Kumar, Shashibhushan Samad, and technical branch members Chandrashekhar and Gangaram Purti among others.
