Family Escapes Major Accident in Chamoli, Uttarakhand

Chamoli, May 31: A significant road accident was narrowly avoided in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, when a car veered off the road and fell into a gorge near Brahmsehn Road. Fortunately, the vehicle got lodged against a large rock, saving the lives of four family members inside. Upon receiving the alert, the fire station team from Gopeshwar promptly arrived at the scene and safely rescued all passengers.

According to reports, the Gopeshwar fire station was notified on Sunday morning that a car had lost control and fallen off the road near Brahmsehn. The rescue team, equipped with necessary tools, quickly set off for the site.

Upon arrival, the rescue team discovered that the car had come to a halt after falling off the road, resting precariously on a large stone. Had the vehicle fallen further into the gorge, it could have resulted in a tragic accident. Fire service personnel wasted no time in reaching the trapped individuals and bringing them to safety.

Police reported that Mridul Shah, a resident of Roli Gwada in Gopeshwar, was traveling with his family to Bageshwar when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge down the slope. The car carried Mridul Shah (48), his wife Jiya Shah (42), their five-year-old daughter Hitachi Shah, and three-year-old son Lavanya Shah.

Fortunately, none of the passengers sustained serious injuries. All were rescued safely, and their condition is reported to be stable. Local residents praised the fire service for their swift response.

The rescue operation was led by Leading Fireman Atar Singh Rana, with Firemen Pawan Singh, Yashwant Singh, and Ankit Singh playing crucial roles. Their readiness and professionalism helped avert a potential disaster.
