
Vladivostok, June 21: The “China Day 2026” event, featuring a photo exhibition on Chinese modernization, took place in Vladivostok, Russia’s Far East, attracting thousands of attendees on Saturday.
The event showcased various aspects of Chinese traditional culture and modernization achievements through a photo exhibition, technology product displays, cultural experiences, culinary tastings, and performances.
During the opening ceremony, Wu Demin, the Chinese Consul General in Vladivostok, emphasized that civilizations thrive through exchange and that friendship deepens through connections. He noted that China and Russia are neighboring countries, and the friendship between their peoples has grown over the years.
Vera Sherbina, the First Deputy Governor and Chair of the Government of Primorsky Krai, highlighted the increasing cooperation between Primorsky Krai and China’s northeastern regions in trade, agriculture, technology, education, and tourism in recent years. She expressed hope that this event would bring Russian people closer to Chinese culture.
Vladivostok’s Mayor, Konstantin Shestakov, expressed confidence that Russians would fully appreciate Chinese culture and economic opportunities, further enhancing the good neighborly relations between the two countries.
This event was jointly organized by the Vladivostok branch of the Xinhua News Agency and the Chinese Consulate General in Vladivostok.
