
New Delhi, February 14: Union Minister Manohar Lal attended the 39th Surajkund International Crafts Mela on Friday. He urged the public to visit the fair to experience India’s rich cultural heritage up close. During his visit, he also inspected several stalls.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Minister Manohar Lal stated that the grand confluence of art, craft, and culture at the 39th Surajkund International Crafts Fair strengthens the unity and integrity of the nation while promoting cultural ties. He emphasized that this fair has become a hallmark not just for Haryana but for the entire country, embodying the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
Recently, Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Saini also participated in the 39th Surajkund International Crafts Fair. He interacted with talented artists and artisans from across the country and abroad. The Chief Minister remarked that this fair is a vibrant representation of India’s rich art, culture, and rural traditions. Each craft, color, and handmade item tells the story of our history and hardworking artisans. The Surajkund Mela serves as a powerful platform to give traditional crafts a new stage and allows artisans to showcase their products directly. He encouraged everyone to honor their heritage and support local artisans.
On another note, Gulam from Varanasi set up a stall featuring silk handloom sarees at the 39th Surajkund International Self-Reliant Crafts Festival. He reported receiving excellent feedback from tourists, who are particularly fond of the traditional Banarasi handloom sarees.
Visitors at the Surajkund Mela expressed their delight in experiencing diverse cultures from India and abroad all in one place. One female visitor mentioned that it was her first time attending the fair, and she loved the vibrant atmosphere. The colorful stalls, delicious food, and cultural programs made her experience even more special.
Another female visitor shared that she comes to the Surajkund Mela every year and enjoys shopping extensively. According to her, the fair’s charm, variety of handicrafts, and cultural ambiance draw her back each year.
