Kashipur, April 1: A remarkable blend of faith and devotion is unfolding in Kashipur, located in the Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. The grand procession of Goddess Bhagwati Balasundari Devi is set to depart from the Chaiti Temple to the Nagar Temple tonight, igniting excitement among devotees.
During the Chaiti fair, religious fervor reaches its zenith at the Balasundari Devi Temple in Kashipur. Tonight, the sacred palanquin of the goddess will leave the Chaiti Temple for the Nagar Temple with full rituals and grandeur. A large number of devotees will accompany the procession, filling the area with chants of devotion.
Manoj Kumar Agnihotri, the assistant head priest of the temple, shared that a flood of devotees has been pouring into the temple complex throughout the day. Long queues of worshippers have been seen since morning, as they seek blessings from the goddess and offer prasad while making their wishes. The temple echoed with the chants of “Jai Mata Di,” creating an atmosphere of devotion.
It is noteworthy that the goddess’s palanquin arrived at the Chaiti Temple from the Nagar Temple in the early hours of March 25 and 26. Since then, a steady stream of devotees has been visiting the temple. Both locals and visitors from across the country and abroad have come to pay their respects and make their wishes at the goddess’s feet.
Special arrangements have been made by the temple committee and administration for the procession. Security measures and facilities for the devotees are being prioritized to ensure that this religious event proceeds peacefully and magnificently.
Manoj Agnihotri urged more devotees to attend, emphasizing that the goddess fulfills the wishes of her followers. The havan (sacred fire ritual) will commence at noon, with the final offering expected around 2:30 PM. The goddess will then depart for the Nagar Temple between 3:00 and 3:30 PM and will accept the morning aarti at the Nagar Temple. After this, devotees will not have the opportunity for darshan (viewing) for the entire year.
